I believe strongly in holistic healing and am open to and aware of many paths for recovery. I take an integrative approach to counseling, meeting my clients wherever they are in their process and uniquely tailoring treatment to individual needs. Passionate in healing trauma (relational, spiritual, physical, sexual, emotional or early childhood), I walk along side brave survivors seeking clarity. I cherish this process and am honored to be a safe advocate and guide. As a mother of two, I have plenty of material to pull from and treasure working with parents, especially those who are facing parenting transitions and challenges with blended families. With support, validation and humor, I can help make parenting fun again and offer a non-judgmental space to collaborate in creative solutions.
I am a certified EMDR practitioner and treat many anxieties, phobias and trauma with this science-based approach. I have either been trained or informed in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), somatic therapies, PIT (post induction therapy), IMAGO, DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), clinical hypnosis, art and expressive therapies, motivational interviewing, polyvagal theory, ACT and IFS.
I am licensed by the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board approved supervisor (LPC-S) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC).
I am a certified EMDR consultant, Texas board approved LPC Supervisor, Somatic Experiencing student Beginning II, Independent Facilitator of Parenting the Love and Logic Way®, certified clinical trauma professional and certified in clinical hypnosis.

Counseling has the ability to make you more aware of your own strengths, educate you of your psychological state, fortify your understanding of yourself, and prevent you from feeling isolated. Counseling can help with recent, situational concerns as well as past unresolved histories.
I believe every one has unique, specific abilities to make the best decisions for their situation in order to move forward. As a counselor, I will accompany you as you work towards a goal by offering support, information and assistance. I DO NOT step in front of you and pull but stand next to you and walk alongside you. Your role is committing to your own growth and treatment. The counseling process is a collaborative experience, and the atmosphere is safe and one of acceptance.
Since becoming a counselor, I have been a program director for an inpatient substance abuse treatment and mental health center, counseled families at a domestic violence shelter, a crisis hotline advocate, and an owner of a private practice. I have worked with clients who are experiencing relationship concerns, sexual abuse, relationship violence, families in crisis, depression, anxiety, stress, chronic mental illness, divorce, grief, medical illness, trauma, women's issues and chemical dependency. Given my broad range of experience in different settings and with various clients, I am confident in addressing short and long term therapy goals and a full array of issues.
In my practice, I see adolescents and adults. If your concern is one that is outside my area of expertise or training, I will do my best to provide referral options. I have trained many therapists over the years and have a vast network of excellent therapists to refer.

Congratulations and welcome to the counseling profession! If you are searching for supervision, you are about to embark on a journey of personal and professional growth in a field which can be challenging but deeply rewarding. Finding the right supervisor for your needs is an important step in the process. I recommend LPC Associates interview with several supervisors before choosing the right one.
As a supervisor, I play several roles during an internship including teacher, guide, director, ethics investigator, collaborator, advocate, and eventually peer and colleague. My goal as a supervisor is not only compliance with ethical standards but to nourish development and use the internship to determine what populations you are best suited for, what modality you want to master and how I can help you grow and flourish in the field. I do not push my approach to counseling but encourage you to find your own voice and make your personal mark in the field.
I am looking for LPC Associates who take the supervision process seriously, value and follow LPC ethical standards, show up to supervision prepared and use their time wisely, and are willing to continue their education with advanced trainings and / or certifications. At my practice, I do not hire LPC Associates. I supervise LPC Associates who are accruing hours at agencies or other practices. If you would like to set up a free phone interview, please complete the form below.
I also offer EMDR consultation in person or telephone / skype. I completed EMDRIA basic training in 2007 and was certified in 2011. I have consulted with EMDR practitioners for a variety of approaches including complex trauma, early childhood abuse, codependency, addictions, major anxiety disorders, severe depression, grief, art and expressive techniques, resource development approaches and much more.
