As a mother of two, I bring both professional expertise and personal experience to my work. I especially enjoy supporting parents navigating transitions, blended family challenges, and parenting hurdles. I specialize in treating anxiety, phobias, and trauma using EMDR therapy, a science-backed approach proven to accelerate emotional healing. My training spans multiple methodologies, including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Somatic Experiencing, DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), polyvagal theory, clinical hypnosis, expressive arts therapy, IMAGO, ACT, IFS, and motivational interviewing. These diverse techniques allow me to provide comprehensive, individualized support tailored to each client's needs.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC-S), a board-approved supervisor, and licensed chemical dependency counselor (LCDC) in Texas. Additionally, I hold certifications as an EMDR consultant, clinical trauma professional, Somatic Experiencing student (Intermediate I), independent facilitator of Parenting the Love and Logic Way®, and certified clinical hypnosis practitioner.

As your counselor, I will walk alongside you, offering support, information, and assistance as you work towards your goals. I won't step in front to pull you along but will stand beside you every step of the way. Your role is to commit to your own growth and treatment. Counseling is a collaborative experience, providing a safe and accepting atmosphere for your journey.
Since becoming a counselor, my journey has taken me through various roles and settings. I've served as a program director for an inpatient substance abuse treatment and mental health center, counseled families at a domestic violence shelter, been a crisis hotline advocate, and owned a private practice. I've worked with clients facing relationship concerns, sexual abuse, relationship violence, family crises, depression, anxiety, stress, chronic mental illness, divorce, grief, medical illness, trauma, women's issues, and chemical dependency. My broad range of experience with different settings and clients equips me to confidently address both short and long-term therapy goals, as well as a full array of issues.
In my practice, I see adults. If your concern is one that is outside my area of expertise or training, I will do my best to provide referral options. I have trained many therapists over the years and have a vast network of excellent therapists to refer.

As you search for supervision, you're about to embark on a journey of personal and professional growth in a field that is both challenging and deeply rewarding. Finding the right supervisor is a crucial step in this process. I recommend that LPC Associates interview several supervisors to ensure they find the best fit for their needs.
As a supervisor, I fulfill various roles during an internship, including teacher, guide, director, ethics investigator, collaborator, advocate, and eventually peer and colleague. My goal is not only to ensure compliance with ethical standards but also to foster your development. Together, we'll explore which populations you are best suited for, identify the modality you want to master, and find ways to help you grow and thrive in the field. I don't impose my counseling approach on you; instead, I encourage you to find your own voice and make your unique mark in the profession.
I seek LPC Associates who take the supervision process seriously, adhere to LPC ethical standards, arrive prepared for supervision, use their time wisely, and are committed to advancing their education through further trainings and certifications. At my practice, I do not hire LPC Associates directly but supervise those who are accruing hours at agencies or other practices. In addition, I offer EMDR consultation in person or telesession. I completed EMDRIA basic training in 2007 and was certified in 2011. I have consulted with EMDR practitioners for a variety of approaches including complex trauma, early childhood abuse, codependency, addictions, major anxiety disorders, severe depression, grief, art and expressive techniques, resource development approaches and much more.
